John is at the top of my list of people I thank in the entertainment industry in New England for a number of reasons. He will be your best friend but will also push you to the next level. When I was having trouble connecting to a scene, he brought me there. But most importantly, not only is John hardworking and persistent, he is a believer. And without believers in this industry, we'd all be nothing! SOULFIST.
-Kayla Harrity, Actress/Producer/Host, “Early Grave” and “PrimeTime Shorts”
John has a knack for making work not seem like work. His perfect blend of professionalism and casualness, creates cohesiveness and synergy in any environment.
-Justin Brown, Actor, “You Can’t Kill Stephen King” and “Early Grave”
The word ‘professional’ means so many thing to so many people. So I’ll make a statement about John E Seymore because of what I observed. Being ‘professional’ is only one word in a management theory I call “The Three ‘P’s: Professional, Prepared, and Pleasant” … John is the best of all three.
I met John as one of the Producers on the film BLESSID. From the initial moment, I was impressed.
First, because he truly cared for me and other actors, his ‘talent’… he went out of his way to make us feel comfortable in a place far from our homes. From making breakfast, to hauling us about town, to dining out, and just a simple conversation. But that was easy for him… he’s very personable, a nice guy… “Pleasant” come easy to him.
But what made a larger impression, and it could be because I retired eleven years ago as a Director of Sales and Marketing for a major Ohio corporation…to pursue a dream, John is “Prepared”
BLESSID hit some major snags in production one day from a situation one could never had planned on. A decision was made to stop production to figure out what could be done to overcome the obstacle. Within an hour or so… a plan was put into place which not only corrected the problem, but also made sure they would not happen again… AND actually made it possible to shoot over 11 pages that day… while still being “Pleasant” about the circumstances.
As for “Professional”, he was always on top of his responsibilities. When I had a problem with my payment, he corrected it with the payroll company. When there might be a snag, he found a solution. He solved problems without losing stride. He was a ‘boss’ when necessary, and a ‘friend’ the rest of the time.
If I was still in my past ‘life’s’ career. I could not do better than to hire John.
You can do no better than to add John to your team.
-Rick Montgomery, Jr., Actor, “Blessid”
It was a pleasure working with John, He was attentive to my needs, and keeping the spirit of the set, and house friendly and comfortable. Made sure we were where we needed to be, when we needed to be there, and worked nonstop to keep the film going smoothly. It was a great experience, and John was a valuable part of the team,.
-Gene Silvers, Actor, “Blessid”
"John is all business in a business that he loves. I have worked with John as an actor and he brings one hundred percent to the set."
-Duncan Putney, Actor, “The Final Shift”
“Recently, Seymore Films held a casting in Massachusetts. Mr. Seymore was the casting director. I was immediately impressed with the respect other actors held for him. I felt comfortable and was excited that I had the opportunity to audition for Seymore Films. Fortunately, I was cast. On set, Mr. Seymore exceeded my expectations of professionalism. It was everything an actor could as for. Mr. Seymore checked in with the actors at various times to make sure everything was going as expected. It was an honor to be part of the Seymore Films production. I recommend Seymore Films to any talent, director, and screenwriter. Personally, I hope to continue to work with Seymore films again due to the professionalism and quality of work produced by this production company.”
-Kadian Clarke, Actor, “Blessid”
John Seymore recently cast my daughter in a film he is producing. From pre-production through filming and beyond, John was always accessible and quick to address any of our questions or concerns. Her role was difficult at times, but John made sure that she was always well cared for and having fun. Through the process, she gained both a mentor and a friend.
-Rebecca O’Brien, Mother of Actress Madeline O’Brien, “Blessid”
It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed.
